Thorsten “Storno” Wiedemann presented the idea of A MAZE and talked about past and future projects.

About A MAZE

A MAZE - By combining courage for experimentation and joy in gaming, A MAZE celebrates the convergence of computer games and art. A MAZE is more than simply a festival – it is a series of events as well as a conceptual format that offers a regularly emerging platform for interdisciplinary exchange. Creatives are encouraged to break down the conventional computer game and surpass established concepts of play. A MAZE emerges regularly with exhibitions, lectures, workshops, or concerts and creates a platform to communicate, express ideas, learn from each other and playfully experiment together.

Mirae Rosner and Jesse Scott of the Berlin cell of GRL talked about past and ongoing projects in Berlin, built “LED throwies” together with the audience and brought their “BlitzTag” installation to play with.

About Grafitti Research Lab

GRL can be defined as an art group dedicated to outfitting graffiti writers, artists and protesters with open source technologies for urban communication, tools that can be found online and used, so long as it is for non-commercial purposes. Among the tools developed and put at the disposal of protesters everywhere, the LASER Tag, Led Throwies and Projection Bombing are the most well-known. In a continuos dialogue with graffiti writers and activists, who bring their specific needs and expectations, projects are always in development.
