Tatiana Vilela / Playful performances : another way to look at games

Games are meant to be played as a matter of course. Yet there exist games as much interesting to watch being played as actually playing them. They are not just games to play but games to perform. How can performance improve the gaming experience ? Do the collective judgment or the desire to entertain have an impact on this experience ? From running out the clock or spamming hadouken to bicycle kick and bunny jump, let's explore how the player's creativity is increased in the context of playful performances.

Tatiana Vilela is a playful experience designer. Her creations, freed from the doxa, are characterized by unique and disturbing perceptual experience. Most of these works implies dedicated controllers fully created for these experiences showed and playable at different events.

Theresa Baumgartner / Warped Vision

In a first degree access to creating visuals Theresa manipulates live captured and live generated content with both analogue and digital tools. The findings of that process is a distorted picture of the immediate present, the now ripped apart into various layers.

About Theresa Baumgartner

Theresa Baumgartner is a visual artist based in Berlin. In her work, she explores the dialogue between moving image and music using her own distinct, bleak aesthetics that derive from a painter´s approach to pixels and light. For AV performances and music videos, she has teamed up with artists like Deadfader, Positive Centre, Sighas and Shifted´s projects Covered in Sand and Visions of Love.
