Miguel Azuaga / 'Migration' of bodies to a digital context

In this talk, along with a presentation of selected video works, Miguel Azuaga will be focus on migration and memory among other topics. He will also discuss about the role of fiction in his multidisciplinary approaches and its ability to generate new realities.

About Miguel Azuaga

Miguel's recent works explore the constant construction of identity through the impact of migration flows, positing a discourse in which aesthetics is inextricably linked to a socio-political context. Installation, video and photography are the media he uses to develop his artistic production. Azuaga earned a BFA from the University of Málaga in 2011 and rounded out his education with courses at the University of the Arts London (UAL). He has participated in solo and group shows in Spain, England and Germany. Since 2015 he is enrolled in the “Art in Context” MA programme at the Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste Berlin)

VJ Fader will discuss why he created AVloops.com, a creative content marketplace tailored for visual artists and animators to sell original animation as digital downloads online. He will talk about the challenges in today’s visual market and where this platform is headed. In addition he will showcase his latest real-time generative application programmed using the Unity game engine.

Fader (James Cui) is a visual artist who works with multimedia in a variety of disciplines. From stage design, video mapping, generative animation, software design to art installations, his work has been shown to countless audiences around the world. He has exhibited at numerous festivals such as Coachella (Indio), Burningman (Black Rock City), Insomniac Events (Los Angeles), Fuji Rock Festival (Japan), Mapping Festival (Geneva) and Backwoods Music Festival (Oklahoma).
