Julia Charlotte Richter / Play time

Julia Charlotte Richter, video artist and filmmaker, will give an insight into her artistic approach. In her videos, she explores the meaning of present in different stages of age and awareness, and depicts how consciousness, behavior, wishes and desires blend together. On the basis of sensitively arranged scenes, metaphorical places of transition are created.

About Julia Charlotte Richter

Julia Charlotte Richter (*1982 in Gießen, DE) studied Fine Art (Video) in Kassel (DE), Portsmouth (UK) and Braunschweig (DE). Her video works have been shown internationally in numerous screenings and exhibitions. She received different scholarships and residencies, for example a working grant by the Stiftung Kunstfonds in 2014. In 2017 she received a project grant by the Kunststiftung NRW as well as a travel grant by the Hessische Kulturstiftung.

Sarah Oh-Mok / About the fear and how Art can answer

The artist Sarah Oh-Mock will present a selection of her artistic works and working process, especially into the media art scene. She will also focus on the cooperation aspects' of her works and on her experience / existence as an artist in Berlin.

About Sarah Oh-Mok

Sarah Oh-Mock (*1984 in Worms, DE) lives and works in Berlin. She studied in the Fine Arts academies of UDK Berlin (Prof. Vedder, Meisterschüler 2014), Kassel (Prof. Melhus) and Mainz (Prof. Kiessling). Her surrealistic video works, installations, objects, photographys and drawings are dealing with the relations between culture, artificiality of urban spaces, nature and the subconsciousness. After her studies, she collaborated for two years with archaeologists for an interdisciplinary project called PHASO. For her surrealistic videos and installations, she received several awards (2018: scholarship for video artists and a travel grant from Senat Berlin, 2016 : Palatine art award, 2015: DAAD- scholarship, South Korea/ Finalist Hans-Purrmann-award, 2014 : short-term Artist residency, 345 km Project, Praha, CZ (German-Czech Future Foundation)/ Emy-Roeder-Preis 2014: (Emy-Roederaward)/ Three month artist residency, Seoul ArtSpace_Geumcheon, South Korea/ Finalist Future Storytelling, House of the Cultures of the World, Berlin, etc.) She is the co-funder of oMo artspace opened in Berlin since 2016 with the artist Bongjun Oh (KO), and of the artist collective UNST Berlin, today mkv (2014). She was part of many group exhibitions and festivals, as European Media Art Festival Osnabrück, Dokfest Kassel, Athen Video Art Festival , HKW Berlin, Kunstverein Ludwigshafen, v_kunst Frankfurt, Museum Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern, RGZM Mainz, Manhattan Bridge Projection Series, New York, USA, Art Space One, Seoul, KOR, Kühlhaus Berlin, NY Art Book Fair, MoMA PS1, New York.
