Klara Ravat, Circuit Splash / Tief - A/V by Klara Ravat & Circuit Splash

Tief is an atmospheric audio-visual live set composed by the sound artist Circuit Splash and experimental filmmaker and olfactory artist Klara Ravat. Together they generate a tranquil transition between frames, grain and noise. For this performance the duo will be playing with scent in combination with images and sounds. Seeking for disturbance and alteration Klara and Circuit combine analogue and digital mediums.

About Klara Ravat, Circuit Splash

Klara Ravat (*1986, Barcelona, Spain) creates media and odour artworks, installations and experimental films. By opposing the division between the realm of memory and the realm of experience, Ravat absorbs the tradition of remembrance art into daily practice. This personal follow-up and revival of a past habit is important as an act of reflection. By investigating the concept of landscape in an adventurous and exploratory way, she wants to amplify the wonderment of the spectator by creating compositions or settings that generate tranquil poetic images that leave traces and balances on the edge of alienation and recognition. Her works appear as dreamlike images, often accompanied by scent, in which fiction and reality meet, meanings shift, past and present fuse. For the past 3 years Ravat has been developing works related to the sense of smell as a research on how do we perceive through this sense. Klara Ravat currently lives and works in Berlin. Circuit Splash is an ambient project with a touch of glitch, experimentation, drones and noise as well as natural and humanistic connotations. It's a project born in Berlin 2 years ago in parallel to the Tief performance with Klara Ravat. Its creator does not know much about where the project is heading to, and remains quite silent. Mostly CS appears as the need to push oneself into unknown boundaries and interact with human beings and the machines others manage, a base experiment to relate and find new sounds that can be further applied and lead to something unexpected. Sound is an universe of infinite frequency combinations and its domains won't ever ever be displayed. CS gets an impulse into that uncertainty in sound.

A-li-ce,Swub / Intruders

Based on amateur and family film archives from the 1920's to present times, Intruders is an audio- visual memory remix of anonymous stories and portraits, a dancing conversation with our own ghosts. Attracted by nostalgia and voyeurism, we are led into a time travel in which we are increasingly followed by familiar, suspicious and curious glances of unknown human figures, seeking our attention in the present time. Intruding our collective memory, the pictures use their own history to feed our inner emotions and internalised fictions. Intruders is co-produced by the video art residency Bandits-Mages and the national French archive Centre CICLIC. Inspired by 4000 watched films and 26 hours of collected archive footage, Intruders is an unique contemporary historical document with more than 2000 live sampled and manipulated audio and video sequences. Dealing with collective memory as well as the intimacy and transience of being, the actuality of this audiovisual performance seems to be timeless in today's interconnected media society, which produces permanently archives.
